I just had a couple of the first strawberries. Anybody have strawberries?
Also moved some Tomatoes out to the deck.

I have three (the rest didn't make it) but they've already produced or the current berries are small and green.

I'm from Texas so we've been getting strawberries for a month or so now. We've got about 9 plants. 3 were from last year, the rest are newly planted this Spring but they produce well. We get about a handful a day. I've got them in a 4x8 raised bed and letting them sprawl. Hopefully next year, we'll be loaded!

We just planted ours last month. Only getting a few at a time. Next year should improve the harvest.


Going to try and fertilize this morning. More rain in forcast next few days.

Got lots of stuff to go in ground also.

Yeah, all this rain, while needed, has sure put a damper (no pun intended) on planting. Always work to be done! Good luck!

Rabbit damaged my pole beans plants.

My Blue Lake Pole beans had reached 3 + feet up the fence around my veggie garden, the bean plants are inside the fence and usually grow up and over the fence without issues. But a big rabbit has cut the runners off at about 1 foot by pulling them thru the fence for snacks. I am going to place a barricade outside the fence to keep him from reaching them, but wonder if the plants which are quite robust will put out more runners or rejuvenate those that have been cut. I think they will but would remove and replant all if I have to.

Never had this problem before, but pretty sure each only puts out one climbing runner?

Soapy water on your beans. I put it on for bug protection. Or sprinkle ceyene. pepper on them. You have to reapply after rain. I am sure one taste and they will leave plants alone. We have had rabbit problems also.

We are having frequent heavy rains here. I know I can block access from outside my fence.

But do you think the bean runners will rejuvenate and find the fence again?

Did the rabbit leave any? Or like the one i lost ate to the ground. I would just plant more. To be sure. Which is most likely what is needed. If only ate a leave or so then might be a chance.

The plants are fine, they are inside a fence rabbit can not get in. But the tendrils attached to the fence were eaten and broken off about 2 feet up on the plant.
