Two years ago my mom throw some patty pan squash in the chicken coop, they've been popping up everywhere since.

You just got to love volunteer plants . I save them all the time . Have some squash ? and tomatoes now that I saved while weeding .

Can't grow them with out a greenhouse or hot frame here... Melons, corn, tomatoes... bunch of stuff I need the greenhouse for...

Oh wow. My dad used to grow really big watermelons and he grew a big (can't remember if it was a honeydew or a cantaloupe, think it was a honeydew) about the size of a basket ball. And my dad wants a greenhouse so he can start things earlier (or grow things year round) as we put things in the ground in February.

I had some volunteer gourds once, man those looked real pretty when they grew up in the crape myrtles!

I try to too, but I don't always see them when I'm weed whacking or someone else is mowing and I didn't mark. My grandma has watermelons come up in her flower bed every year, have been for about five years now.

Lol Yeah but you can grow other things like apples, we have about six and the only time they've put on fruit was three years ago Mostly it's cause they don't flower at the same time, or other cold weather fruits, and rhubarb
