I want a small orchard when we move into the grandfather in law's house, the in-laws have a field that is zoned only as farmland. Belgium is great for apples and pears but since I hate pears with a passion I'll be trying some stone fruit and using the rest of the land for corn and subsistence farming.

I bought a apple earlier this year but yet to plant it.... So I need to plant that soon, but it flowered about a month a go and has one apple on it! There's no other apple trees!!!!!!

We did something different this year. We planted most of our garden in our hoop house and we planted grafted tomato plants from Johnny Seeds. The tomato plants were amazing. The chickens were in the greenhouse all winter. I am sure their manure helped. :)

If it's still in a pot unplanted I'd take the apple off, better for the tree that way. Even if it is planted I'd still pull the fruit off, leaves more energy for producing a better root system gives you a healthier tree over all.

I have a one of a kind apple....

Would appear so.

I should get some grafting lessons and just graft it's stem on smaller apple trees?

Explain that a bit more please?
