Any suggestions for good next projects are welcome. I would even love to participate in a knit along!! Any takers?? Just has to be a decent beginner project, nothing too hard!

Hello ladies, anyone knitting these days???
I've been making veggie baby hats to sell at my friends farm stand. Pumpkin, eggplant, tomato, peas

I also made a chicken hat for my husbands partners grandchild. It wasn't your typical cute chicken hat , it was a plucked chicken with drumsticks. It was so funny . It really didn't go over to well. I loved it.
Wish I could put photos on this thing. Stay cool....

Hello, I'm fairly new to the site, and am an avid knitter (I also crochet a lot, and sew a little). I have been knitting chicken sweaters - not because I need them, but just in case I need them I know that if one of mine moults big time, or if I rescue one who has lost her feathers for some reason, if it is winter, I will panic. So I've been dinking around, making various sizes and colors of sweaters. I started with using the patter from Little Hens rescue, but quickly decided to modify it after the first one. The first one did not button on the top, so it would have to be pulled over a hen's head. I decided to make it come apart entirely and can be put on side to side instead.

What a coincidence! I was actually JUST starting that pattern just now! Looks great!

Speaking of which, I'm having some issues! I know the basics of knitting but I have never been very good with the lingo of it on patterns.

"Dec. I st at each end on every following 6th row" I get the first part but I am confused about the "on every following 6th row"

What does this mean? Every 6th row I decrease?

Thanks in advance for whoever can help me!

YES

I'm not firmiliar with the pattern but at the beginning of a row to decrease so it slants left you have to SSK and at the end of the row to slant right you K2tog. Not to confuse you even more LOL.....

I use a counter. Let's say you're knitting 36. 1-5 will be straight stockinette. Row six you will decrease at first and last stitch. Then start your counter over at 1 and do the same thing over and over again.

I hope that makes sense. By the way, instead of attaching the front and back, I made them separately, with longer pieces at the top so I could button them together and then avoid having to put it on over the head.
