Morning NEEDLERS!!!! LOL!!!! Hey..give Purr directions to the crochet thread!!! Scoot, did you check ebay for the cotton yarn? Dont get Aunt Lydia's unless you want to make doilies...way tooooo small, like thread. I used to know a woman that was able to "tat"..have ya'll ever seen that? It's a little red tatting shuttle and she made doiles with it..too tedious to me but an old fashioned art apparently.

Ya'll better be gathering up the recruits here!!!! Slackin off is not allowed!! Make a list Scoot..people like to join things when they see a list...that way too everyone knows who else they are "crafting-a-long" with and can chat on other posts....don't you hate all the work I give you??!!! LOL!!!

I just learned how to knit. But I can only knit rectangles. I don't know anyone else who knits, in real life. So I found videos online showing the cast on, knit, purl, and cast off. That's all I know how to do--so, it's all rectangles for me.

I prefer using the purl stitch because it goes much faster!

I have two pairs of needles, one long (over a foot long!) very skinny (5mm) metal needles which I hate. They are awful to use. And I have a short, fat pair of bamboo ones which I love, so I end up using them all the time.

My first project was a scarf for my 4 yr old little boy. He loves it and proudly wore it to school while it was cold. I have been trying to make rags now. And I found a pattern for a poncho that uses two rectangles. So I want to make one for my little boy for this winter. I think he would love it.

Let me join your club, please.

From what I understand... newbie myself

..... ALL (or MOST anyways) knitting is Knit and Purl stitches

It's just in which order and configuration you knit them that gives you all of the patterns
