BYC KNITTING CLUB

Is this thread still active?
I'm a recently newbie knitter. I took it up in June/July as a way to connect with my grandmother after she passed away earlier this year.
I find it really calming and relaxing and as I learned, I felt her hands around mine guiding me and helping me.

I love knitting now and have only put the needles down in the past month, while I polish up on my chicken incubating and care research so I was well prepared for starting this chicken journey again. I can't wait to get knitting again soon, I'm sure I have lost much sanity this past month! I NEED to knit!

I would LOVE to be able to chat to other knitting chicken lovers :love

Welcome to the world of knitting... It is addicting I taught myself to knit about 40 years ago. Boy do I sometimes wish they had utube back then. 'Knitwitch' on tube is very helpful if you ever need help and there's no one around. A shop in town is having a great sale today. Do I need more yarn? NO, but I'm going anyway.
Keep knitting and be safe

Yarn blasphemy!! LOL There is NEVER 'no need' for yarn, especially when it's on sale!! Hahaha

I have been teaching myself with books, apps, YouTube and people on Facebook. It's been a fun journey and I'm really enjoying it.
I have nobody around as we live on semi rural acreage, with no neighbours, local friends or family.
With three young children, losing my sanity is frequent. Knitting helps me keep calm some of the days.

Socks are done! Only three more pair to make for Christmas.
400

Nice socks good luck with getting the other pairs done.

Of course I did buy yarn the other day. I'm going to knit another 'hitchhiker' shawl byMartina Behm. I got the pattern off Ravelry. It knits up really quick. Also working on a slouchy hat.

Picked the rest of my potatoes today so except for greens my garden is done for the winter. Gives me more time to knit and quilt. I have to finish one for my niece before Christmas. I hope she likes it after all the work I put into it. I used Dr. Seuss fabric.

Oh well back to knitting ladies....Carol

I just found this thread. I live knitting and spinning. :) I'm finishing up the last of the Chrismas gifts lately. Lots of infinity scarfs this year. I'm ready to CO a pair of socks for myself after Christmas. ;)

I'm jealous! I'm not even close to finishing my Christmas knitting yet. I plan to start a sweater for myself once I'm done with gifts :)

I've been so busy with my life (lol) and the chickens that I haven't had much of a chance to be on many other sites. My hubby finally let me get some angora rabbits and so I thought I'd check out the forums for the bun's and what do I find but You Guys! OMG! I've been knitting for almost 40 yr's, that's the main reason for wanting the angora rabbits! So Hi! I'm 8 miles pass Mt. Washington. I live in a village called Shelburne, NH. I do Stained Glass, crochet a bit, not all that good at reading the patterns. I've knitted Iran sweaters but I'm not to good at reading graphs anymore. My eyes get tired and I'd rather do cables or any other stitch that I know so I don't have to always go back to the book. I've done some quilting, taking a mystery class next month. The quilt shop I go to is offering a free class, you need to p/u the sheet of what's needed. So you can dig in your craft box or buy the material there ahead of time. 2 months ago she had another class like that and I won a cuddle down pkg. where all I need to purchace is 2 yds more of a pattern I'd like and I can make a twin quilt or I could of made some really cute scarfs but I'm tired of scarfs that are to puffy, It's hard to turn your head arnd while driving with something like that on. But the material will make a super warm quilt!
I have 30 chickens, 2 roosters, 6 pekin ducks, 1 muscovy and 2 angora does and 1 buck all reg.german. A friend of mine sells my eggs at his store plus I have friends who come down and pick them up
My boys have grown up but can't seem to find the right girl. Their always complaning that the girls want everything and once you tell them you can't afford to do or buy something, there gone. Having no girls and not being that way, is it true? lol
ok I've shared way too much. Who else is out there?!
PS
I think Santa is making me a e spinner for xmas! I hope for Valentines he makes me a drum carder! Unless someone out there has one!

Hi chickery-do, I'm here on Long Island (really an upstate)NY girl . I love your area of the country. Finished a hat for my sons girlfriend and I'm now working on "the hitchhiker" shawl for myself.
I also quilt, been working on a wedding ring quilt in between knitting projects.
A group of us are going to do thrum-mittens after the new year. I'm going to try and knock down some of my stach before May, since I already have my hotel reservations for the Maryland sheep and wool festival.
Happy knitting Carol
