You can't really control gender, can you? Just hatch more!

I always heard no more than one roo to less than 10 hens, but with LOs, I was reading that they aren't nearly as aggressive with the hens and each other, and multiple roos are not as much problem. I would really like to keep all 3 of mine, maybe I'm just grasping...
Your hens will be grasping the feathers on their backs

Some chicken's are sexed at day 1.. they are hatched & are different colors. . Greenfire Farms has some.. bielefelder's are just one. They are dual purpose & great egg layer's.

I've been experimenting with that, and am convinced that i've increased my pullet ratio by 20%. Sounds totally stupid, preposterous, and superstitious. But, I can't argue with 67% pullets for the last 3 hatches, compared with 40% pullets for the previous 2 hatches. And, yeah, I keep hatching more, just to keep testing the theory!

That's awesome. I'd love to hear some details when you feel like your theory is holding up!

Oh yes, I know there are several sex-link breeds. I have golden comets which are sex-links, and the new sebrights that are in my incubator are also! (oh, now I have to go look that up... I know the silver is sex-linked, but I forgot if the gold is.. haha)
