Hi,
I was going to start work on my personal pages. I have a few ideas.
But I had trouble with the title can you raise the amount of spaces from
15 to 20 that would help.
Also is there a way to edit titles??? Melanie
Right now titles are limited to 15 characters because they are used as the links and we didn't want them too long. We may make them longer, but in the meantime keep the titles short but add a title to the top of the page via the editor.
Regarding editing the titles. That's a good idea, but unfortunately it would effect how the pages are linked, so if we link to a page titled "my_coop" and you change the page title to "our_coop" all the links to that page would become broken. I'll work with our programmers to see if there is a way around this, but for now... choose your titles carefully!
With that said, if your page isn't linked to from BYC or anywhere else, a Short Term Workaround to changing the title of your page: Highlight all the content of the page, click "Add New Page" and enter the new title and paste everything into that page. You should get everything, pictures links and all into that page. If it works then you can delete the old page.
Keep the ideas / suggestions coming. We can't promise we'll get them all in, but we CAN promise that the more people use the tool (especially to help add content pages to the site) the more resources we'll put into adding features.
BTW, there are a few minor things we may sneak in before the next "big" upgrade so stay tuned.
Remember, we'd LOVE to have EVERY member create a coop design page with pictures and descriptions of their coops.
Also, we'd love to have members create other content pages about their favorite breeds (with pictures and information).
I would put my coop in, but it was a premade. So I don't think it would do much good for everyone who needs plans. Other than giving people that don't want to make one on thier own another option. I didn't take pictures of putting it together. I could kick myself now. So all I have to show is a finished product. I could tell the benefits and drawbacks if that would help. I just didn't want to come across like I was advertising this coop, etc. Steph
how do you post pics to your personal pages. i told some stuff about me and my family. but don't know how to add pics. i tried to mess with it, but no luck. can someone help me as to how to add pics of my flock? Thank you in advance
You can also sign up for the free version of/at Picturetrail.com
You just crop/re-size your pictures in Adobe or what ever program you use then upload it to
your photobucket or picturetrail account and copy/paste the URL in your BYC Post to share with us.
Or enter the url into the box when creating a page on your "member page"
Anne - NOT SURE WHAT YOUR PROBLEM COULD BE - I use Picturetrail - I just enter the url of the picture I want to use.
Add it in...We got a Chick-N-Barn/Yard and modified it as a temporary coop for the time being as we have some major issues with our main run and wouldn't have it finished before it was time for our Banty flock to move out of the house. I think options are a good thing. We'd love to build from nothing but recyclables but sometimes it just doesn't work that way!
DH is working in a cabinet shop and can't get scrap for free...go figure!
