I can't seem to get around that copy/cut/paste issue while trying to insert my pics, which I've already uploaded, because of some error mssg: cut/copy/paste cannot be accomplished with Mozilla/Firefox... does anyone know any way to get around this problem?

OK I have made my page, but now I have a question. How do I get it listed in with the other coop design pages? That was my original intent but I don't see how to do so.

To be on the page with the other coops you will need to enter your coop into the coop contest. At the close of entries you will be judged and catagorized into "small", "Medium", or "Large". Then your coop will appear with the others.
Very nice coop by the way. Good job.

Hello everybody,
I'm new to the site and have been reading and reading. I'm interested in raising chickens but know very little about them. I would very much like to here any advise anyone can offer on the subject since I'm ignorant on the subject.
I need chickens for both the eggs and meat and we live in a rural area with a lot of predictors such as coyotes, skunks and some raccoons. I plan to build a coop to keep them safe but have never done it before and any advise would be a great help.
I read a post here from someone that they wanted to keep their chickens out of the garden. I would have thought that i would be a good thing to allow the chickens in the garden to help on the insect problem?
I know that we all know how much work a garden is and I sure don't want to do anything that would harm it or cause more work.
I would like to know where is the best place to buy chicks and what type to begin with. How much should I expect to pay for them and so on.
I am reading the information here but there is so much of it it will take me a while. I've checked the faq list for answers but have not found anything on these questions.
Thanks for the help

Welcome James, glad to have you. Start with the top blue border on the Index page and you will find "Learning Center" Coop advice, etc. Start there and you will gain a whole lot of knowledge. Then go to each appropiate subject in the Index forum. Anything you can't find there ...well, there are thousands of good chicken folks who will be happy to help you get started!!
