I also use safety pins to baste. I do alot of 6 inch units so I stick a pin thru each 6 inch segment.

May I ask how you are quilting the blocks? I love the Grandmother's flower garden blocks....in 30s and 40s prints too!!

Nanakat, I used Quiltsmart fusible to make the flowers. I am using a large meander in the borders, a snail type swirl in the lattice and small stipple in the white around the flowers.

When I am done, I will applique stitch the flowers down.

Look what I made!!! It took most of yesterday and today and a lot of ripped out seams,, but I did it!!

Thank you!! It helped once I discovered I was using two different marks on the sewing machine lol!
