BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

Good for you Zephyr Farms. It's good to see more and more young and older people getting into knitting and crocheting and quilting. It's relaxing and gives one a sense of satisfaction to see the results of something you've made. Welcome aboard and keep us informed as to projects working on. We like to hear about them.

I'm not on the computer that much but the first thing I saw was your post about the Las Cruces ladies. They truly are lovely ladies and a great influence for your kids. Sewing skills last a lifetime. You should be very proud. Your kids will always remember you and the great times they had in your class.

Thank you, it's a great feeling watching them. Our club numbers went from about 30 to 49 yesterday due to the school accidentally putting out sign up sheets for after school activities with our club listed on it. But we won't turn them away, we'll probably just add another day to work with them.

Has anyone made any feathered star quilts? Are they as hard as they look? I want to do one (maybe a lapsize quilt) for my mom for part of her Christmas present.
I just got a new book called, Feathered Star Quilt Blocks 2 by Marsha McCloskey. It looks like it has some interesting and challenging stars in it....

Would anyone be interested in making a full size quilt using this pattern? I like it because we share the same name, lol Im a fall/winter color person. It comes from the Dear Jane quilt from 1863. I would like to barter for some or most of the cost. I will include the book of 225 patterns from the 1863 Dear Jane quilt. Very nice book!!

Thought I'd share some current projects:

A zippered pouch & little wallet for a friend

A finished quilt top. Basting is my very least favorite thing, so I'm procrastinating a bit.
