BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

My first attempt at paper piecing, I designed and sewed this block today. Was tossing around the idea of joining the summer swap w/ this, but I didn't realize how long paper piecing took.

Can you tell what it is? My husband kept saying it only looked like what it is b/c he knew what it was suppose to be.

Is it a butterfly or dragonfly? Looks great!

You think it would take forever? Any pics of anyone doing those angles by hand?
Also are the designs I picked unique and attractive? Maybe even rare?

I have not seen those designs before so I'd say they are unique. If it were me hand sewing it would take forever for sure. Just depends on how much you like to hand sew. How commited you are to finishing, and how much time / circumstance you have for hand sewing.

Why are you wanting to hand sew???? It is the traditional way for sure, and many purist still hand sew and hand quilt.

The one good thing about hand over machine sewing is the portability, you can easily take the makings of a couple of blocks w/ you and needle and thread and work on it anywhere / anytime.

Hi. I have never sewed anything ever. Handmade quilt would bring personality and uniqueness to a home or bedroom
