Also, you can order it online from Connecting Threads at 30% off quite often with free shipping . I have a Brother embroidery machine that does up to 5" X 7" designs. It has a bunch of designs on it, but I can download from the computer onto a jump drive which then plugs into my machine. If you can save enough to afford one that does 6"X10", go for it, but I can do quilt blocks on mine. I can also "quilt" with it, but haven't tried it yet. Here's a flower for you!

I could use some ideas if anyone has some.I would like use this block to make something. So far I have only thought of a pillow or a placemat/s. Not real sure if I want to make some pp leaves to go with it for the placemat borders. The block is 12 inches finished. I like how it makes up. Almost looks like a turkey.

That is one of the most awesome turkey blocks I have seen. Is it your original pattern? I think as the center of a table runner or mantle "valance"

I live in a old (way old) single wide mobile home. My best friend had a big camper she used to use for the hired hands on her farm, and she wasn't using it anymore. She asked me if I wanted it. Did I ever - WOW! It had been sitting in a barley field for a couple of years so after she and her husband hauled it over here and put it back behind the garage among the apple trees, I had to evict several families of mousies and other creepy crawlers. I cleaned and scrubbed and fixed it all up, and then I moved in. This is my Quiltaway Hideaway. Not as gorgeous as "The Shed" but it works for me!

That is a fantastic idea!! You have it fixed up quite nice. Love the racks too. Your work is very pretty.

I have a small "14" foot camper that I might use in the spring, summer and fall. Not winter though. We has a lot of sub zero days and snow last winter. I live in the wrong state. I need a warmer state for my quilting. Heating costs are painful up here. Even though hubby buys wood and cuts it from the woods it's still expensive. Just not as bad as fuel oil. He cuts mostly soft wood on the property here and buys the hard wood. He could not cut enough hard wood to make it through the winter here. He's a little older 68 and not as spry as he once was. For that matter either am I. LOL. Sorry I do go on about nothing. Someday I would like to knock out the walls here and have one huge sewing room.

Thank you very kindly. Actually I live in Northern Wyoming, not too far from Yellowstone Park, and it gets really cold with snow here too. But what I've learned to do is to spend the warm days of spring and summer finishing tops and getting them layered while I have the camper open. Then I quilt them during the long winter days when I welcome a warm lapful of quilt. I do, however, use my camper even in the winter on warmer days (25 degrees or more), using a couple of Mr. Heaters and I love the solitude of it.

Okay, this is way too cool! Paper piecing again. <sigh> I get so jealous when I see people who can do it this beautifully. Actually, I get jealous when people do paper piecing, period, but it's fantastic to see it done so well. I think I'd make a holiday banner from it...maybe with a golden cornucopia fabric as the border and then that gorgeous reddish brown in the tail feathers as the hanging tabs. Show us what you decided on when it's all finished, please?

Thank you!! It's really not hard. Its just getting organized. I lay each piece on top of where it's supposed to go leaving a half inch allowance for the seam and then just flip the fabric back and stitch the line. Not too hard. Just takes time. I make sure I pin each seam that needs to meet another like the tail feathers to the back. That line needs to be right because if it not it will look odd. The hardest part was the waddle thing. Getting that even was a pita. It's two pieces. One on the head piece and one on the neck piece. Sighs...took me a day to complete. The next one should only take about an hour. The first one is always the hardest. I will work all the pieces in a chain next time instead of one at a time. I will probably go with the placemats. They are quick and will sell on ebay. Or should. Maybe.

This is my favorite site for paper piecing patterns. I really think she is the best designer on the planet. I have a real hard time with her patterns. They are hard but well worth it. She will send you a free pattern each month if you sign up for her newsletter. Her patterns are wonderful. The picture below is one of her patterns. It's the first pp pattern from her that I completed.
