BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

Ive almost got myself convinced that I should not buy any more fabric until I finish some of the projects that I already have in the works.

Ive got several UFOs including a raggedy baby quilt, a photo quilt wall hanging, a floral wall hanging, a variation of Shoo-fly called Hens and Chicks at the Trough, and the hardest because of the points... a kaleidescope quilt.

I havent worked on any of them in a couple months but seeing everyone's beautiful quilts is inspiring me.

Well as far as not buying fabirc goes, that is not a good idea. You could miss out on some great fabric by passing it up until you get your UFO's finished. Bad Bad idea LOL.

Where is that inocently walking away whistling smiley?

I love to sew and I love to sew quilt tops but,......my probles=m is finishing them. Does anyone on here have one of the Long Arm Quilting machines? I'm sure someone does.

Anyways, does anyone with a LAQ machine quilt for others for a fee?

I am working on a denim and fabric quilt top but I know that I willnever get it quilted.

Anyways, I have sewn for years, like since I was 10 and the only thing I can't seem to get right is the quilting.

Lovely quilts and goodies everyone!

Buying fabric...well, for years, I bought when I wanted to until I had so much fabric.....ugh...I hate to even speculate how much I had invested money and yardage wise.

Through the past 5 years, i've use up a bunch, either using it for products for my past product line or selling it. I know have a "managable" stash.

I'm trying to be diciplined and not buy unless it's for a specific project. It's HARD HARD HARD to do...but so far so good.

I, too, am very inspired by all the lovely projects posted here to get on my UFOs and get some things done.

I made this for my daughter since she just started to learn how to crochet and knit. She couldn't find anything she liked so she asked me to create a bag with pockets and big enough to hold few projects she was doing..The bag is stuffed in this pic since I gave her some more yard, another set of knitting needles, and couple books.

You are correct by using a teflon foot. My grandma didn't have one so she used a piece of electrical tape on the bottom of her foot and cut her opening out with a small type knife she had...lol...
Wait until ya'll see the rooster purse I am making with leftover fabric scraps and a placemat...mmmm...makes ya wonder what we can come up with stuff like that..
