BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

Hi ladies (and gents, if there are any here...)

I am a beginner quilter. I made two last year... a disappearing nine patch and a zigzag. I love how both of them turned out. I am currently in the middle of working on a bargello but I'm taking a break now that the weather is nice. Once it gets to 95+ deg. I'll probably go back to working on it. Thankfully I don't have any deadlines, I just work on it when I'm feeling inspired.

I'll post some pictures tonight if I remember!
I had to look up Bargelo! WOW!!!!

I found one that I love!

Hello!

I love sewing, it is something I love to do. My main love of animals is my dogs and rats. I have my own online shop actually that I have made dog/cat beds and rat/ferret hammocks and beds for about 4 years now. It is my little source of income I get while going to college.

I really love quilts and have yet to finish my first one I have started as I am a bit scared to ruin it! But I saw all of the lovely block swaps and it has made me determined to start making blocks (as I just use a solid piece of fabric for mine) so I can hopefully some day soon contribute into one of these swaps, how great they look!

We still have room for a couple more over here:

Colors are green and white, and we are using a simple star pattern.

Do you ever do a block exchange where, for example, everyone does a cat block that is 6", send 10, get 10 different ones in return? Or a progressive quilt? The only progressive quilt exchange I did was a nightmare, someone squared the top up and butchered it, someone else sort of dropped out while in possession of a couple of tops, etc., but the idea was good.
Just curious.

I just found this thread and saw that the last post was not answered yet. Yes, we do block swaps. Babymakes6, the post above yours, showed her block for the swap we are doing now.

Does this group do swaps? I'm already finished with my June blocks and was hoping I could find another group doing swaps that I could join as well.

Anybody?

Hi everyone! I am somewhat new to quilting. My mamaw(grandmother) was an amazing quilter and seamstress. She made most of her quilts by hand and as she passed away a couple years ago I decided to continue the tradition since many women in my familly sewed. Right now I am halfway through my first nine patch and love it so far. It does take much longer than machine but I still enjoy it

LacyBlues, start another one, if you want to. This thread was originally intended for everyone to share links, projects they are working on or finished, and just converse with other quilters. We used to have a "block swap" each month. Everyone would do one block in the pattern or colors of their choice, and send it to their swap partner. Great way for variety, and a fun way to try new patterns!
