BYC SEWING/QUILTING CLUB

NC, you might try a black solid or deep navy solid to use as the joiner between the blocks given the amount of blue and dark colors in the blocks. Or perhaps a light beige, those would be my three suggestions for inside the quilt. For a binder on the outside you might want to use a contrasting fabric to the joiner, or a multi colored fabric that has the predominant colors in the blocks.

Thanks Coyote and FrChuck!! I'm thinking I like the black with the white eggs? I like the fried eggs too...maybe that for the back.

It always helps to get another opinion or two from other people. I'm so darn indecisive!!

Because of the multi colors in the different block I would go with the solid colors to join the blocks and use the Black and White egg print for the binding. Or use the egg print to join and put a solid color for the binding.

If you have enough fabric to test it with out sewing it lay out one section and try it, just fold the joining fabric and then add the next set of blocks to see how it would look .

Or another possibility is to use a light colored solid fabric to join the blocks in a row and then use a dark colored fabric to join the rows together.

The problem with using a print pattern to join the blocks is that it may either dissappear inbetween the blocks or clash with the color of some of the squares in the blocks.

Contrast is fine, clashing is not.

Thanks for the suggestions Scrambled! These swaps are so fun! The Quilted Rooster swap was the first one that I had ever done! Of course now I don't want to miss out on any of the quilting swaps! I'm almost done with my Spring Swap blocks. I hope to mail them Wednesday or Thursday.

Most animals will avoid stepping in or grazing around cowpies, that is except for dogs and poultry! Dogs will roll in them and poultry will scratch them apart looking for bugs! EEEEWWWWW!
