Here's what I do with non pre-washed charms and small scraps.....
I use my scrap wash bag....it is two wash clothes sewn together on three sides. I pin the forth side with safety pins. I get a good wash and dry with very little raveling or distortion. I keep several of these on hand. I've also used a square tea towel foled over, sewn on bottom and along the side...like a small pillowcase and then pinned the top.
For larger charms the same size like the 10", I stack them 4 together and baste stitch two opposite sides then pop them in the gentle cycle.

Thanks for the answer, NanaKat. So nice to have those on here who know about shortcuts and tips of all kinds.

Thanks for the question too, Scrambled.

I have 18 of my swap blocks (and 2 of my own added) sewn together..so cool!!! Had to fold it to get it in the pic! Every block matched up with the next perfectly, course I did cut them all with my rotary cutter but it was nice to have all the seams match perfectly!
