Oh TammyTx even if I had a fancy shmancy machine (and I certainly don't) I wouldn't drag it to classes. I'd keep it safe at home. Yikes if all your gonna do is peice when you don't need the bring the Cadillac along.

And baustin check to see if there's a local quilt guild you can join. Maybe it will be a better group. We have a gal in our guild that is about 75. She like you took a machine quilting class at 70. She is one of the nicest ladies I've ever met and a great quilter to boot.

Unfortunately it sounds like you both had run ins with some quiltzilla's. Don't let that stop you from looking into a local guild. I'm one of the youngest in my guild. We have ladies that only hand quilt, some that only machine quilt, some that only do applique quilts, and everything in between. I always look forward to guild day and seeing and talking about all the things we've made.

Wow! see what happens when you're nice to someone? I gave a dozen eggs away yesterday to a neighbor but we're all like that in my neighborhood. We even animal sit when someone goes on vacation.

I'll join this thread - I love to quilt

I have done a few quilts, one in deerskin and one rag quilt too. I am just so slow. I will do about an hours worth of working on them every night or so while sitting/chatting with my DH after the kids are in bed...

My latest quilt project is the Thousand Pyramid Quilt and let me tell ya, I cut out about 10,000 triangles it seems....all with scissors...one by one... I don't even have a rotary cutter

I have already started piecing it but it is liable to be all the way in 2010 before I finish it

17roses - Awesome basket. Your such a great neighbor!

I went to the library today and got a few books on quilting and quilt patterns. I can wait to read and look through them.
