Might I add.....get lots of the same color thread to sew the flaps down, if not you will wind up with 2 or more different color threads. Have fun. I enjoyed making the one I made.

I plan on making on of those for my sister for her birthday. She has been hinting for a denim quilt since she left the one I made for her late husband with his inlaws when he passed and they won't give it back. That's the Orange something or other pattern isn't it? aka Mock Cathedral window?

Acre I love that quilt. If I had known you had it, I might have tried too buy it for my son. He served in both wars and then decided too retire after being sent back too Iraq a second time. Was in the army for 20 years. Hey maybe one day I can make him a quilt, you recon? Good job and the quilt is very pretty.

O.K the flag fabric came from Wal-Mart.....and I went to the local thrift store and picked up several pair of CLEAN denim jeans. It is very easy but the ironing seems to never stop. YOu just cut the fabric in a square and then fold over the rounded edges of the denim and then zig-zag sew around the edges. YOu can only put one row together at a time.

That's the pattern. How nice looks done in patriotic colors. I have a box of worn out jeans my youngeson gave me and I'm sure I have enough. I should make one for my son that jt retired from the Army after 22 years. He flew Black Hawk helicopters until he w medivaced out of afghanistan. He's still flying. Now he flies civilian medivac someplace in VA. His son is in the navy stationed in Jacksonville, FL. I want to finish this log cabin quilt I'm doing first. I'm almost finished with the top.

My little one's book bag done! (she loves it) I only had white webbing stuff for the strap, but she loves it and the fabric does have some white in it.

I said to my hubby I'll never make another one, it was super difficult to handle it with the plastic canvass inside to keep it firm, some of the binding had to be hand sewn.
