I have started my blocks and even recruited my DH for using the rotary cutter and cutting out pieces for me.....he offered to sew some when the count got up to 21.....but I said "NO", if he wanted to sew he had to join the swap himself! LOL

I chose what I thought was a simple block pattern, Annie's Choice, but am having a dickens of a time getting the corners to meet.

I do not know how to paper piece (yet). Does anyone have any quilter's tips for me?

SOS!!! (Save Our Swap!)

They do up here. They have the thimbleberries for 4.00 a yard and the other fabric is 3.00 a yard. Most of it is shop quality fabric. RJR and the other big sellers. I rarely go to joann fabrics. I buy quilt books and muslin there. In my opinion the prices are getting too high even with the coupons.

Thanks Everyone for making me feel like my work is good. I don't do any other quilts besides cat quilts anymore. Same old stuff. I do some paper piecing on the cats I am making now. The pattern is called sawtooth cats. It's a nice pattern. I have modified it to be a queen size quilt. It's not too hard. I have tried a couple of patterns from Silver linings originals. One of my quilting buddies challenged me to make this . OHHH it was hard. Took me a couple of days to make the flower. I've only been quilting 3 or 4 years, I think. Not a lifer. My friends are. They make the most gorgeous quilts. They are the ones with true talent. My hand sewing is not good. Not matter what I do it is still not good. Good thing it's only the binding I sew these days.

Annie's Choice is what I was going to do. So lets see if I can explain it. I think you will have 4 rows so take the first row and iron all the same way then take your next row and iron them the Opposite way. When you put the wrong sides together you should be able to fell the seams butt up against each other take a pin and place it right through the seam. Now put a pin on both sides of that pin. only about 1/4" away and take out the pin in the seam. Hope that helps.
