BYC Valentine's Day Hatch-a-Long

Question
Once they are fluffed up, can they go in the brooder even if it's only been 12-14 hours since hatch?
Yes, as soon as they are fluffed they can go into the brooder. However, if there are other eggs still hatching, pulling the chicks out could cause issues for the hatching chicks.

Chicks can stay in the incubator for atleast 24 hours without food or water because of the nutrients they absorb right before coming out of the egg, if this is your concern.

Thanks! They all hatched last night. I went ahead and moved them just now.
Here they are in their 'early days' brooder...

We have chicks!!! So far 5/15 have hatched this morning.View attachment 4049162View attachment 4049163
I had 14/15 chicks hatch. 12 of those 14 are perfectly healthy, but 2 of them got pushed around when they were trying to hatch and got stuck in the egg. So my husband helped them after +24 hours of them trying to hatch by themselves. So now I am up to 38 chicks sitting in brooders right now.

My Faverolles EE is broody and she's sitting on 8 eggs right now <3View attachment 4048429

Sadly 4 of the 6 eggs of hers were completely infertile :(
No development at all.
So disappointed, all of the eggs I ate from her had a very nice looking bullseye.
I removed the bad ones so she doesn't waste warmth on eggs that will never hatch and can focus on less eggs.
No idea about the green eggs, they're too dark to candle.
I just hope something will hatch because she's putting so much effort into these eggs, and there is nobody in this cold season that is hatching so I can't even buy her some random day-olds.
