BYC Web App For iPhone / Mobile

Ok so the notifications work. I got the notification when @casportpony liked the thread. However I can’t reply from the app. When I click to add my comment my keyboard will not pop up.

For the last few years we've supported "PWA" (Progressive Web App) for Android (see our old post here).

It took a while but iOS 16.4 finally introduced push notifications for iOS devices. This supports push notifications which can be enabled once you log in through the PWA and enable push notifications in your preferences.

This "PWA" provides the functionality of an app, but without the issues that the previous apps have had.

In your phone, once you're logged into BYC, you should see a button to install it in the off-canvas menu:

Press "Install", confirm that you want to install it, and then it'll be added. It'll add an icon, and allow BYC to behave like an app. You can even choose to get notifications by going to Preferences and enabling push notifications.

We hope it works well for all our iPhone peeps!

Does the Android app off Google Play Support push notifications? I could just give in and use the PWA too.

Are you all on Safari or Chrome?

I just learned that it is only compatible with Safari on iOS at this time as Chrome haven’t implemented it for iOS yet.

So, for PWA, you can either use Chrome on Android or Safari on iOS

I have two iphones, one for my work too.
On my privat phone I use two browsers Safari and Ecosia. On my work phone only Safari. I tried all 3.
On none of them , the install button functions.

I thought it might have to do with regulations in Europe.

No problem. The website is good on my phone.

The Andriod App in the Playstore is not good.
Use the PWA instead.

I can see the install app button but there is no video to click on.
