Hmm, why do coturnix say 18 days? They should be 16. Didn't pay enough attention so I will probably have a few pop out tonight.

Do yours always take 16 days? Mine take 18 so I had a look on Google. It looks like they generally take between 16 and 20 days, which I found interesting.

Chick number 5 is out finally a blue chick...

and number 6 is in egg working on it...

Yep, they start day 16 pretty much on the hour I set them.

Pretty cool I wonder if the hatch time varies by line or incubator conditions.

#7 hatched a big blue egg.

It look's like these duckling's are in the middle of hatching also. 3 of them are now out of the egg's and sleeping.

Still no action here. These chicks are in no hurry to greet the new year. I set them very late on the 10th because I was busy on the 11th, so they really should start doing *something* today. In theory, anyway.
