Debbie, you could hatch some to raise up and have coop ready pullets right when people start wanting chickens for spring Really though, I just want to have more people hatching in the winter with me because I don’t want to be the only crazy person

I have a friend who will give me 1/2 lavender orpington eggs, a doz.(hens lay rainbow of colors.) I will receive them on Wed. the 11th. but I want to set them Friday the 13th, because I want them to hatch on Jan. 2nd, incase I want to do something on the 31st, or the 1st.

Just want to clarify that I set most of my eggs yesterday on the 8th, and some before that. So my expected hatch will happen all by the 29th. I may try to set a few more in a couple of days if some eggs don’t develop and I have a little extra space. I don’t really need to be part of the HAL unless you really want more people. I just probably won’t be on the exact date!

You can still be part of the hatch-along. Hatching on the first is a goal but up to a week either way can still be included.
