Update to the 8. Several have pipped internally. Brooder is ready.

How do you know they pipped internalky? I'm just wandering I candled the eggs due to hatch yesterday and I saw that they had tiny red dots near the air cell. What is that?

When you candle, if you see a triangle (the beak) moving in the air cell, the chick has internally pipped. If it has, then you need to lockdown for real and get humidity up so it doesnt shrink wrap. Tiny red dots..hopefully that is the blood vessels receding and being absorbed.

Looks like two of the eggs are dead but one is internally pipped theres always a late one lol

Pretty sure the last one quit. Will let it stay a bit longer. No movement and not internally pipped.

The other chicks pushed a pipped egg into an empty eggshell and killed the baby. It was the only grey one so far. I'm so disappointed

I don't think the other 2 will hatch

The chick keeps peeping and peeping. It is warm and everything but I think it's lonely.
Should I get it more chick or should I wait till the Faverolles are due to hatch? (in around 2 days). It is breaking my heart hearing it peep all day long

Well turns out it wasnt a double yolker egg just a big yolk lol did an eggtopsi on it other egg was fully formed just didnt hatch think it ran out of air in the aircell but other 4 are in the brooder now
