It lasted 4 hours, not 5 as was predicted.This is literally my worst fear when hatching.Well, the big Thursday Power Outage is finally over.It lasted 4 hours, not 5 as was predicted.
I decided to keep the eggs in the incubator, put in a hot water bottle, and cover the whole thing with blankets. I've done that before, but not for quite as long.
It actually went too hot the first half-hour, and I needed to open the door to ventilate. Which of course made it colder faster, but rather cold than too hot... After that it sank slowly, but not horribly. When I restarted it again after 4 hours it was on 89.6 F.
The worst part was waiting for it to be over. I walked my dogs twice. lol
