There is not a lot of math in Nursing but there is some.
Mostly mixing medications to the right strength (usually done by pharmacy) and setting administration rates (drip factors, now done by pumps). I hear nurses complain about having to be tested on this because it's all automatic now. I simply remind them "That is exactly what we all said right before Katrina hit."
Yes. Machines and technology are all well and good, but not always reliable. It's good to be able to function without them.
