I broke down and got one of those portable AC units that has a hose that goes to a window vent.

99% of the time our whole house fan works fine: https://www.sufficientself.com/threads/anybody-have-a-whole-house-fan.1991/

(it's just the 100+ days that get difficult).

Oh, and I'd much rather have heat than snow!

Canada? Who were the Canadian mods?

AdoptedByaChicken and kstaven were the way north mods, but not by far. They were within 50 or so miles of me. I'm only about 20 or so miles from Canada. We had others from Washington as well.
