It's a love-hate for me. A billion emails or a billion alerts.

I don't gots them neither. Don't want 'em.

I just turned the pesky "alerts" off entirely. Not crazy about that feature, sorry Staff.

That's the beauty of this system, you can adjust it based on your needs.

I think one thing we all need to keep in mind regarding Alert and email notifications: We just converted a lot of VERY active members vs. all of us starting here with no posts.

So, imagine you're a new member and only have 2 threads you are posting in. You may want to have alerts and Email notifications on everything. This is very different than a member with thousands of posts across hundreds of threats .

We definitely understand that a lot of the very active old-time members we'll have a flood of alerts and notifications, fortunately it's pretty easy to adjust them to your individual needs.

I wouldn't say it's 'pretty easy', and I sure couldn't explain how I did it, but I have most of the alerts and emails turned off.

I have a question.... Apologies if it already was answered somewhere back in the last 85 pages. Can we turn on E-mail notifications for just one thing? Due to some of the stuff I work on with links and updates for the hatcher group, I need a way to easily retrieve all the places I have been tagged in with updates so I can go thru and add them. I guess I could E-mail them to myself, but that's a pain.

If you mean for one thread, you can hit the un-watch, watch button and the pop up gives the option for email or not on that one thread.

Funny...in 'Alert Preferences' there is a specific radio button for when you are tagged in article comments....but not for threads...SMH.
