Wonder how long the alert will stay on the alert list if I don't click on it?

Forever, methinks.

I suppose I could turn off all alerts but mentions... But I like all the other ones to use as shortcuts.

Stays on the page forever, but not on the drop down.
Alerts too annoying for me to use for most things,
mentions might be an exception, will see.

@aart Make sure you check your junk/spam folder.
You could also tell your email provider (usually right click then click the this is NOT spam button) that BYC email is NOT JUNK, to ensure it goes to your inbox.

Yeah, BYC is whitelisted, had been getting emails until I slowly figured out how to shut them off.
