I'm worried my account will be deleted during the move! If so, could I create a new account and just say "this is @RAsChickens"?

Your account will definitely NOT be deleted during the move.

Yes, all thread subscriptions will be converted over!

So my question is: will the new site have a home page like we have here?
Also, will we be able to tag people on the new site? One last question, will the new site be blue and white?

Yes, there will be a "homepage" similar to what we have here.

Yes, you can tag peeps the same way as here.

The new site will be almost completely the same as far as visual design.

Question... What about custom titles, and will PPM's still be able to change their own?

The plan is to have this and other features for GFM's and PPM's. Not everything will be the same, but we'll do the best we can. There will be new GFM / PPM benefits too

but...Something else I have found quite helpful to do. Every time you post on a thread, you are subscribing to it. And it notifies you not only on your profile but by Email. And this drives me batty!! I mean for those that welcome newbies in and post to 12 different newbies threads, this adds up to WAY too many emails coming in every time someone posts on each of these threads!!

So at the top right of every thread there is a tab, watch or unwatch thread....




You will want to click on this a couple of times, a window will pop up and there are options to alert you only on your profile or by email. I turn off the email alerts because they can become overwhelming.

Is there a way to just turn off email notifications of pm's/conversations? I found how to turn off for threads, etc, but for some things, I still like to get an email - like when I've been tagged, so I don't want to turn off everything. But I'd prefer not to get pm notifications.

We haven't started yet... still prepping everything.

Don't worry, we've got backups of everything. Worst case, it just takes a little longer than we expect.

Keep in mind the size of this move. We have:

• Almost half a million members
• Over a million threads / topics
• Almost 18 million posts
• About 20,000 articles
• Millions of private messages / conversations
• Millions of uploaded images and files
• ... and a ton more stuff!
