I'm still having scrolling issues, some days worse than others. It went from being on the New Members thread, to What breed or gender and now at "watched threads," and just any where I need to go up or down.

Even without that doing anything on BYC seems to be a lot slower than it used to be. I don't know if it's during high traffic times. But, I'm not seeing that on other types of websites.

I am too, scrolling as well as lags on every operation including typing, thought it was ads but you don't have ads.

Have you done a system defrag or you could try clearing you cookies/cache/browsing history

Hmm, good idea, but this seems it come and go multiple times within an hour or two.....or even from one minute to the next. It's very irregular which makes it hard to diagnose/fix. Load and operation speeds vary wildly, well kind of wildly.

Even now, if you upload a pic to a thread or an article it won't end up in an 'album' or 'media'...am thinking any pic I want post in should be put in an album first if I want it around to access later??

Correct. I lost all mine as I never put any in an album. 10 years worth.

So they are gone forever? I was hoping they were still transferring some. I liked how it put them in a folder for the particular thread it was posted in.

I have found one feature I do not like...

I am really trying to be positive on the change. However, I have so many of my regulars "stomping grounds" here that have lost people that just have not come back or do not like the new format...

Because of that my normal threads are not listed in the unwatched threads. I have to go to the bottom and open all watched threads then search the list for the ones I want...

I know it can be done. I am just not liking it and I am fairly sure it is one reason some have stopped posting here...


I am wondering what the number of users is like now versus a month ago before the update also..

Newbies will take the place of oldies like me that get too ticked off with all of this. I'm personally sick of clicking on one link at it taking me somewhere else, because i didn't wait long enough for all of the page to load.

I have unchecked the 'show online status' boxes in Privacy and in Settings. Have saved changes. Still I sense I'm being watched LOL the online status continues to appear on my profile page. I'm just trying to figure out how it works.

Can someone tell me if you see the little green triangle on my Avatar right now??

And also if biophiliac appears in the list of members online?

i see it, but saw what you did. i never could get it to work, so maybe it will now. Thanks.

I don't believe you yourself can tell if it's working with out asking someone to look,... no that's not correct. If your name is greyed out in the list of members online, then your status is not visible to others.

Also WV, I think you can allow your online status to be visible and your specific location on the site to remain hidden. Now that I have taken WAY too much time to teach myself this one leeeettle thing. I believe I need to go outside for some fresh air and evaluate my priorities!

OK. Thanks very much Finnie. And why do I not become aware of new posts (yours) until I leave the thread and come back... or I suppose Refresh?

I sometimes see a little message that says something along the lines of "There are new messages, view them" But It never shows up (that I am aware of) until after I hit post. It can get very confusing, because it will put my new post right there on the page I'm viewing, even though the other new posts are on the next page, and theirs came before mine. So it usually takes me a few goings back and forth to get unconfused.

Just for the record and so you never make this mistake again...

Nothing I say or complain about is minor!!!

I wish we could hit like more than once!

Yes but why is it only sometimes.? Mostly I exit the thread and return to see if there are new posts while I was slooooowly typing. There must be a better way?
