After about 4 weeks, the geese and ducks tend to keep to themselves, same with quail and pheasants. Chicks are chicks and go where they please with no particular order that I have noticed.

I haven't had any disease problems, or hygeine issues as long as daily mantenance is kept up to the pen and whatnot.

For added confusion, I have a bantam cochin roo who broods my chicks, ducklings, and goslings for the first couple of weeks for me.

He makes a great mommy!

The only thing I have heard about mixing them is something about blackhead disease between turkeys and chicks... I have no experience with turkeys, though, so I cannot comment on it.

yup, i thought about ordering the surprise. looks like i have to do it now. ill just tell my husband i dont know how the turkeys got in there. lol. i'd like guineas, should i wait?

I don't know, I think later in the season is when you get more of a variety.. but I ordered about an hour ago.

I was thinking it over and decided that I'll just have to order again in a month or two and see the outcome, just to see if they really do have more variety later in the year.. it makes sense to me, but I really want to see if I'm right or wrong.

I don't know what I want in it more.. turkeys, guineas or geese.. I'm thinking guineas but I don't know. Hopefully I'll get some long tailed birds and some good layers. Oh the excitment!

Well..I will let everyone know what I got, but I did get three different "special" orders of mixed who-knows-what. Not to mention that I won't know what the chicks will be for a while. But I should be able to tell the ducks from the turkeys

Not sure if i will be able to tell the ducks from geese, tho, if i get any.
