No, I usually don't keep any over the winter. I 'm going to the sale on Thursday to see what I can find. I can't wait. The old guy should be there selling birds. I hope he brings some good birds. I will let you know if he has anything good. Gena

Wow! They are so big for 3 weeks. Haha. Thats nice. They look VERY healthy too huh? Cackle sure does have some pretty chicks. Hehe

I have ordered from both Cackle and McMurray in the past. I have never had issues with the chicks from either hatchery. Then again I don't ever order chicks until it is April and that may make a huge difference.

Some of the birds I got as gifts just recently are rather from Cackle. Very nice quality birds and very healthy : )

I like Cackle but since you are in California, I would go with the closest hatchery. Better chance for chicks traveling shortest distance.
