Sorry for the confusion aart. I have a medical appointment in another state that could not be changed. The coop was supposed to be done by Fri. Dec 1 as we had to leave on Dec. 2. Meanwhile, my daughter decided to have her baby on Thursday morning, Nov. 30. She lives near me, but we had to go to the hospital and so forth amid all this chicken coop confusion.
The sitter would not watch the chickens in their old coop and run because it is not a covered run and the chickens were very unsafe. We did have goats in with the chickens and they kept predators away, however, our last goat passed on Nov. 14th. The chicken sitter did not want to be responsible for any chickens getting attacked as she could not sit there and watch them all day long.
Plus she was afraid it was going to snow and then she would have had to shovel her way into the run and then into the coop. So she said she would only watch them if they were in the new coop/run as she does not want to shovel snow and lug hot water to them. So I had to get them into the new coop by Friday so I could leave for my dr. appt. on Saturday. I will see grandbaby when I get back home tomorrow. Hope that clears up the confusion.
