Wonders how you can paint with the birds in there especially the roosts,
will you move them back to the old coop until construction is done and all paint is dry?
LOL am picturing chicken feet paint tracks all over. :D

Ha Ha aart. The roosts are removable so I will take them out to the yard to paint them. The other thing that needs painted is the back doors and they can't walk on those since they are vertical. I painted all the trim last week so the guys will go in and measure everything and then come out and cut it and then go back in to install it. I will be in the run to keep the chickens safe. It will be sunny and in the high 50's today with some wind, so the paint will dry fairly quickly. I am not expecting any chicken feet prints on anything!

I have an artist buddy who wanted to use my chickens to make footprints with paint all over some large media(heavy paper and/or thin plastic). SMH. What a mess that would be!! Told him if he wanted to wash the paint off the birds when they were done he could do it...oh, and that poops would also be part of his 'painting' :D He declined. :D

He probably lost his top spot in the art world with that decision

It seems like a long time ago I saw a photo someone posted of chicken footprints in their fresh cement. Now that's a permanent momento!

LOL aart and NFC. I think chicken feet prints in cement would be cute actually. Might have to think of a small stepping stone project in the spring that I could incorporate that into!

That would be a fun little project and you could use them in your run!

WW, I just finished reading your thread. WOW! You are one hard-working lady.

I love your coop design. Your chickens are beautiful and more importantly you have a beautiful grandson.
