Cackleberry Cottage~~comes to life!

Looks good @Wise Woman!
Hard to wait and watch....anticipation!
You and your birds are gonna love it in there.

Thanks aart. It is hard being here watching it go up as I always think things will get done sooner than they do. LOL!!! My husband says I have no clue how complicated these construction things are and he is right. Today they are supposed to put on the roof. Woo Hoo!!! But then it is Thanksgiving so I don't know how much time they are going to take off for that so we may be at a standstill again after today. We shall see.

I too, think we are going to love it.

This morning I went out at the crack of dawn and painted the rafters and the trim around the roof. Figured it would be easier to do it now.

That must help your anticipatory impatience...so maybe good they take some days off, you can paint the latest installation of lumber.

Good you got some painting done! I bought a new paint tray today, i want to paint the inside of the goat barn. Not much progress there. I went shopping today, way too busy.
Looking forward to seeing your finished coop!

Hi all. Sorry for my lack of updates. Not a whole lot of progress unfortunately. They were supposed to come yesterday but they did not. The roof is on now and I spent yesterday and today installing insulation. Not to keep the coop warm so much as to keep it cooler in the summer. They also got the siding up on the left side and the right side and I got that all painted yesterday as well.

We need to have this coop done by Friday of this week, so tomorrow I guess I will be cracking the whip. The nest boxes still need framed in and the side windows need installed and the doors on the back of the coop need made and installed. Also the inside needs the siding installed. I am now going to do all the painting to save some time as I would rather they spend their time building than painting. I am hoping they can get it finished up by Thursday.

I will post some pics tomorrow morning. After working on the coop all weekend, I was just to tired to take any.

LOL N F C. I do need that. I know these guys aren't ace carpenters or anything, so things may take a little longer, but taking off the morning to go Black Friday shopping while I stand around here waiting, isn't doing much to keep them in my good graces. One guy also said he was coming on Saturday and again, no one showed up. So hopefully they will be ready to go when they arrive today!

Anyway, I will be adding more pics in a couple hours when it gets light outside.

I've read several stories like yours lately...someone hired to do a project, gets part way done, then takes off (either for good or just whenever they feel like). Sure makes for some understandable frustration for the person that hired them.

Here's to hoping they get there today :fl
