Cackleberry Cottage~~comes to life!

Pics
Ok, big excitement today. Carpenter guy number 1 shot himself in the hand with his nail gun, so he ended up in the ER to get it removed. He called and he is fine. Carpenter guy number 2 got out of the hospital yesterday and wanted to come to work today but carpenter guy number 1 said no he should rest. I concurred on that. Carpenter guy number 3 came to help but didn't come until 2:30 and the shooting happened at 3:30 so not much was accomplished and the coop did not get finished.

However, we had to move them in anyway. Hubs and I finished off what we could and they are in. Will have to paint perches and so forth next week. It was too dark to take any pics, so I will take some in the A.M. before we head off to my doctors appt. Next week we hope to finish everything off!

They all looked so cute on their new perches! We will see how they react in the morning to having a whole new living space.

Those workers will do anything to get off working, even shoot themselves! If he were a real man, he would just pull out the staple with pliers and keep on working! Just kidding, ow!
My guys showed up at 9:15 and one guy seemed to be trying to cough up his lung! But he kept working and went to the hospital after work. What a guy!
So i now have 2 windows and a door installed. I am going to need lumber to build the stalls and hay loft.
It is great when something gets done! Glad you got your girls in. Can hardly wait to see your finished coop!

You sure have had the whole range of things happen on your coop build! YIKES!

Glad to hear it was to the point where the littles could move in. Best of luck with the doctor appointment, I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures!

It has been an adventure. Let's hire a couple guys to build a chicken coop my husband said. Who knew it would be so involved? Hopefully all the carpenter guys will be healthy and up and running next week and available to finish the windows and the trim. I will finish the inside myself when I get back to town. The biggest problem now is that they will have to work with the chickens running around. But that is their own fault for taking so many days off and never working a full 8 hour day. Such is life.

Exactly! I am going to have no sympathy for my guys when they have to work in the cold. No one showed up today. One is in hospital, where are the other two guys?

Are things in order enough for your chicken sitter to take care of them while you're gone? Hope so!

Yes! She said they had a good day. A little confusing going to bed as some were trying to roost on top of the nest boxes instead of going inside, but she gently put them in one by one and everyone eventually made their way to the roosts.

I will try to post some pictures in a little bit.
