I love my Mutts - aka Americanas aka Easter Eggers. I also have some Silkie mutts, and some Light Brahma mutts and now some Isbar x Easter Egger mutts!

I'm new to all this and moving into a house in Modesto shortly. Looking to get about six birds for eggs. Probably Australorps and maybe some Buff Orps and Ameraucanas. Does ANYONE know breeders here in the Valley soI don't have to order online or drive far to get them?

There are several people over there who raise Australorps, Buff Orpingtons and Ameraucanas (the real ones, not the feed store ones). We also have Easter Eggers (the feed store Americanas - lay blue eggs) and a bunch of birds I am sure you have never heard of before - but might have to get... Chickee has Ameraucana crosses that are also called Easter Eggers (because they are not an accepted color) but they lay beautiful blue eggs - and her birds are Buff crosses. She has some available that are laying, and some that are close to laying.

There is a lady in Modesto that has Ameraucanas and sells hatching eggs on the Crazy 24 Hr Auction thread (Wolftracks). https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/754060/the-new-crazy-24hr-auction-thread/2960#post_11662206 That auction is over but she will have more - or you can PM her and inquire.
