I HATE camping!!!! Too much work to sleep in the dirt!

The boys I have now are a few weeks older then your, so good age to introduce to your girls if you're going to have a roo. I'll probably be rehoming them this weekend so if you think you're interested PM me. Have fun with your ladies! Mine are my sanity...if I have any left anyway!

I'm with you, I love camping

. You can't beat a campfire, the fresh smell of pines in the morning and nature at your doorstep. However, I only camp in state parks where they are also equipped with bathrooms that have flush toilets, hot showers and electical outlets for my blow dryer

I love it too! But have to say, we only camp in walk in only primitive sites with NO running water, etc. to camp away from ppl and noise. Although there is a bear issue.... My most important requirement however is the air mattress!

I couldn't find any of my air mattresses. We have at least 4, but I think they were buried in storage.

I couldn't have fit one more thing in my car anyway. I now have to buy a new fuel pump since I was to overloaded and heated mine up. Machanic is pricing one for me. I needed other things done to it, but always something major comes up and I can't do what I need too. Gotta love the Altamont!

I had to have one of my daughters meet us sunday and take some things home with her. I really don't know how I got it all there. The trunk and backseat other then where the kids were sitting. Only my youngest son and daughter and 1 grand daughter rode with me and the others were delivered to me. LOL

I did sleep without the air mattress, but I was actually more comfortable this year than all the years I slept with one. My problem was setting up and tearing down. Plus I didn't sit much. Too many vendors and I also hung out in a both for an organization I worked for years ago when they first opened. Looked for a few friends that I missed. I'm the only die hard. Everyone else goes for a few hours and I'm usually there from friday until sunday.

This year? Man.......... I left saturday morning and didn't get there until after 3pm since we were sitting on the side of the road with no help until the fuel pump cooled off. Then we started breaking down the next morning so we would have most of the stuff done when it was time to leave.

Wasn't in the boonies though. We camp in the groves at the campus. I actually could see the street where we camped this year. I hate that I didn't get my usual spot. I kept starting at where we always set up and was so depressed Bill wasn't there to get us there so early on friday to be setup before most people were there. Maybe I'll get it done next year. I really need to start selling some chicks or eggs and get someone to fix my van. Never again in this car. And there were 3 more of the same make out there, but they didn't have my problems. I pack too much!

My son's Yokohamas are supposed to hatch today but so far only one is out & the other 11 are just sitting in there. I hate shipped eggs............... but what are you gonna do if you want particular breeds. I hatched out 3 of 6 eggs Yokohamas from another breeder for him last month & was hoping to do twice as well with this dozen. We'll see. I did have a power outage this morning at 5:45 but when the power came back on & the incubator powered up it still showed 98.7 degrees at 57% humidity so thats good to go.

Girl, I feel ya on the shipped eggs. I had bad luck last time, but the weather's better this time, plus other circumstances are different so I am hoping something will hatch. I bought again from the same breeder, but this breeder has a pretty good reputation & I know the eggs were fertile last time, just didn't hatch due to a number of factors in play at the time.

And it's like you said, when you want a certain breed, what can ya do? Ya gotta go with shipped eggs sometimes.

I just ordered 2 dozen eggs of assorted purebreds from Lund Poultry, trying like the dickens to get WFBS. I've been in touch with them & they know I especially would love some of them, but all their birds are really nice quality.

You can meet a lot of people on here who might have breeds you want, and they could be within an hour or so driving distance from your house. When you're looking for something in particular, it never hurts to ask. Could spare ya the heartache of having to deal with shipped eggs that never hatch.

What a suprise today! I have 5 Broodies YES 5! Plus I have 42 eggs in the incubator scheduled to hatch Wednesday. Anyway I go check on the Broodies and out pops the cutiest little thing! I look under momma and she had 4 little fluffy butts in there. I don't really pay attention on when the babies should hatch under Broodies so it was a nice suprise.
I just put my add on Craigslist. $2.00 each. It pays for the feed plus we like to watch them hatch. They are mixed but people don't care. Out of the 50+ babies that should hatch this week I am only keeping 12. I bought 1 doz Buff Polish hatching eggs and ALL 12 are right on track. This was my 1st time with shipped eggs and I lucked out.
Kinda a bummer that we won't be able to watch the action on Wednesday. We are talking my daughter to Shriners Hospital Wed morning. She has some leg issues we are trying to work out.
