Thank you so much! I’ll look into these hatcheries... I was hoping to find a breeder who isn’t a company. You know, like from someone’s house who breeds cream legbars or speckled Sussex! I know they exist, just having a hard time finding them. Thank you for all your information!

Alchemist IS a family operation. I was looking at them for their Marans. They have a web site I think they are in the bay area as well...

Note is illegal to ship chicks if you aren't NPIP certified. (Though I see you/other poster have a trip planned, just FYI ).

Beware of backyard breeders. Do they know where they got their stock from? Have they culled for any faults?

Yes! I live in San Jose but I will be making a trip down to Southern California the week of Thanksgiving. The chicks should hatch around November 6th.

Not sure where you are located, but Bombshell Chix is AMAZING!! Love her! She has olive eggers and Cream legbars. I personally have some of both from her. Check her out!

Anyone here know of a breeder close to lis angleles or San Bernardino county? I’m having a hard time locating one here and figured maybe in your quest you ran across one.
