Hopefully, everything will go well and once the males are mature and the pullets are laying we will be able to hatch some eggs. Do you want newly hatched straight run chicks or older sexed chicks? I am hoping that my friend with the 10 acre farm liked how the Langshan cockerel tasted and still wants to breed them with me. I need to contact her and see how she likes the taste of the heritage breeds compared to the Cornish X. I will definitely post pics on here once we get the breeding pens set up! Come on spring!!!

It would probably be best for me to get older sexed chicks so I don't have to find the cockerels a new home which is pretty difficult, lol. Thank you.

Mike(ElitePoultry) liked meeting Zoowemama and papabrooder. A get together is being planned. Mike has an egg laying strike going on(2-3 from 50 hens). Still, he is bidding on more breeds to hatch and of course Cheryl is going to help him!

Then there were charts showing the hours of sunlight by latitude. I find stuff like that to be amazing.

CALI CHICK is getting over a migrane, so PJs are the perfect outfit for taking awesome pictures of eggs and her flock! Chickens eating ham bones, Broody moms raising chicks! what more could we ask for?

Feathersprings posted pictures of Partridge Silkies! Also, she is about to hatch using her new Brinsea 20! How lucky! Her Silky that was hurt in shipping is ok now too.

Later, we saw pictures of the Parents!

CaliChick got advice on keeping her Roos with her Hens.

tls_ranch had a Hawk Attack! Hens were lost and some were found! DH was working on an awesome looking Arbor when it happened and he scared off a hawk! Good Job!

debs_flock has paint silkies that look like painted ponies(not really but the do have paint like spots)

We even got to see recently hatched chick pictures!

Jason really wants some eggs for his incubator. TJs eggs were discussed. Then Mille Fleur leghorns. Even CL X Penne eggs.

OR4-hmom found hidden eggs! Chickens are so funny and crafty too...Pictures of her chickens were posted and now I know what a Quail OEGB looks like!

Mike got his lights up! He will start having more eggs Soon! Nice glow to those coops Sir!

Yea the lights in the coop look real good. I'm really happy how it came out. Now hopefully the girls respond to the extra light soon.
About how long should it take for them to pick up egg laying now?

It takes two weeks, but you can start getting more eggs sooner than that.
