California - Northern

UPDATE 4 pens are rented already - 6 still available

Just spoke to my "landlord" at the Ranch where I've built my pens, instead of taking the pens & coops down, she is open to others renting them, about $75 a month for each (includes autowaters, water & coop) Each coop is one half of a 6' x 4' coop, the pens are each 6' wide. Some are 18' long, some 12' long. There are 10 pens and are located in Clayton. Please let me know if you are interested

That is a great opportunity for someone that lives close enough!

It is Snowing hard up North!

MOUNT SHASTA - Officials have closed a section of Interstate 5 in Northern California after a storm dropped heavy snow and led to cars and trucks sliding on the slippery roadway.
The California Highway Patrol on Friday said the highway was closed 10 miles north of Redding in Shasta County, and are advising drivers to use alternate routes.
The National Weather Service told The Redding Record Searchlight (http://bit.ly/UibGwn ) that the storm dropped a foot of snow in some areas, and prompted an avalanche warning for Mt. Shasta.
Chains are being required on I-5 north of the closure area, and a high wind advisory is in effect from Siskiyou County north to the Oregon border. Forecasters say Mt. Shasta could see 7 feet of snow before the storm moves out on Sunday.

Drive carefully

I need to get the silly Dorking Pullet off of the Roof!

Good news!

My SG Dorking pullet, Mimi was in the coop tonight! I must have been too wet and cold for her on the roof of the coop!

She was of course laying in the pan I use to catch feed...Gonna have to clean that out in the morning!
