Okay, finally home from my family Christmas today. And I thought of you today Ron as I drove through Woodland (had to go all the way to Capay).

The capay in Glenn County is pronounce with a short a sound while the one in Yolo County has a long a sound. It took me awhile to get used to the way they say it here in Yolo county.

Good morning Molly!

So far it's just me, the dogs and the finches.  Now, if some of the eggs due on Thursday would start doing something..................an early pipper would be nice.  Then get dressed and head out to turn everyone out (unfortunately into the mud).  I am so ready for a good couple of weeks of dry weather so some of this can soak in and dry out.

It's a nice and peaceful Christmas morning. The kids are playing with all their gifts.
Prime rib, potatoes, butter horn rolls, and home grown carrots for dinner. Made some cookies yesterday.
Here's my view this morning. No new snow yet, but it's supposed to start soon.

Oh gosh Kelly, I bet it's gorgeous .... I'm so glad you get to have a white Christmas ..

My luck we will get one chick lol then I will be scrambling to get a few friends to keep them company.

Rain is getting old. we need it I know but can we space it out some ? This storm is adding to the snow pack and not so high up. I just got back down from up the hill some. Anything over 4000 feet is a tough drive right now. I am glad we did not get any of the real low snow like you all did up in Redding.

I just told my DH tonight, I was going to smack the next person that said that

I think we're already at something like 175% of normal. We don't need it anymore! Stop already! I think we could go without snow the rest of the season!

I had wet dogs AND chickens when I got home! Somehow the door to the big layer coop blew shut while we were gone today. I had about 20 miserably wet buddies chewing me out as I was picking them up and putting them in the coop tonight. Ingrates.
