I have a LG incubator sitting on the counter that I'm trying to lock in.

Is it worth it to try to hatch my pullets eggs? I've read through the LG trick thread and sounds like I may have my hands full with all the quirks. I never do things the easy way anyway.

I've got a small animal fair day coming up March 9th and figured they would be cute little dinos by then.

It would give me something more to watch than the rain/snow mix that's falling again.

Yes, you should hatch your pullet eggs!

That would be the best test ever.

Jason, I did a good candling last night as I locked the eggs down. I used my very bright light and I could get a good look.

Out of your 12 eggs, 5 were clear, 4 look like they had developed and quit, 3 are a good solid dark color inside, although I've never seen any movement. Nothing smells, so I just left them all in since they weren't my eggs. If they were mine, I'd just toss the 9. The rest of the eggs locked down with them, 4 of the 5 eggs I set from my WCB polish (first test hatch) and 5 eggs that appear to have made it from my Secret Santa swap, BCM & OE's.

My luck we will get one chick lol then I will be scrambling to get a few friends to keep them company.

Or give my friend John in Loomis a call if she is out

I haven't been on here since before Christmas............Everyone seems to have prepared delicious meals and desserts! My mouth is watering just reading about your menus...even the homemade pizza! LOL! And, best of all, it sounds like everyone got to spend time with their kids and family.

It's wonderful that we've gotten a couple days of sunshine. Hopefully it will blow over tonight instead of drenching us with more rain.

Not much has happened here (a good thing) except one of my gorgeous, little blue silkies just started displaying wry tail. She is only 12 weeks old and may have been injured by my ornery Welsummer (who broke into the baby pen). I might have to find her a nice, pet-only home since it could also be genetic. My son wants to keep her and just "not hatch her eggs" and I could even test hatch the offspring, but I haven't decided yet. I'm such a sucker for cute, fluffy chickens!
I quoted some of you because you are incubating too. I can't explain how excited I am that this will be my first hatch with my own chickens. I put 6 of Mysty Blue's eggs in the bator on December 14. They should hatch January 4, next Friday! Actually 2 were clear, so I'm hoping the other 4 chicks hatch without any problems.
