Poopy Orp butt. Trim or bathe? I know some trim...but I love their fluffy butts so much. Not sure if that will look very funny? haha! Why can't they keep their bums clean. It's not too much to ask is it?

Feeling really blue today........today it has been 6 months since my husband passed away, oh why does life have to suck so bad?

I'm so very sorry.



Catching up from a few days away with the kids. I had 5 wellie babies hatch while we were gone.

Thankfully a friend took them to hatch for me while we were gone.

Another 16 eggs in the bator. Mostly wellies and barnevelders.

Roof going up on the coop this weekend, barring bad weather. A sweet friend gave us some comp roofing to put on it. So fancy. I cannot wait. Hope everyones chickens are enjoying this weather! My ducks sure are- we have now succumbed to penning 2 of the drakes up because we now have several girls with skinned necks. Poor things!

It really isn't. Can't be helped and can't help. I cannot even imagine, my husband is truly my best friend. We've basically been together since we were 14/15. I'm into my 30s now. The fact that you are on here, talking about it ...and chickens- I think is very encouraging. Even if all this chatter provides you with even a little distraction to get through the day...that can be good.

We were together for 13 years, married for 11. Losing your best friend really sucks. Lucky (or unluckily) I only have 12 chickens where I live or I could see myself going chicken crazy lol.

How old? Older ones it is a sign of parasites.
