I did read an article about it and it may not even happen--Congress has something to do with the final decision. Even so, like you posted, Packages would still be delivered on Saturday.

Whoa! That is freaky! And I thought that the black on the drumsticks of my black Langshans was weird! Thank you for posting this pic! I was wondering what they would look like!
Quote: I have all eggs sent to me marked Hold & Call for pickup. I usually have to call my local PO and have them pull them back off my drivers truck. He apparently doesn't read english real well and always says.........oh, I didn't see that.

On a quest for Speckled Sussex, Partridge Rocks, California Greys, Delawares and Easter Eggers would like to get all chicks within a week of each other but am willing to hit multiple spots. The EEs and the SS are the most highly desired on my list.
Any of you Mendocino County peeps buy your chicks in Ukiah? Rainbow Ag Orders from Ideal, TSC orders from McMurray and I don't know where Medocino Farm Supply orders from but was wondering if you had any knowledge or reviews. I am looking for someone to include a special order with their store order if neccessary.
How about Northern Sonoma County? I have no experience with these either. Our Rainbow Ag won't special order and the chicks I want won't be coming in at the same time
Ron I hope your eggs are still viable! since I followed your advice about canceling my order with MM I have read on hear about loads of people who have lost all or part of their MM shipment. Hence my feed store scavenger hunt
Oh and I am quite envious of you with incubators...hoping to have natural incubators in the form of broody hens this time next year so I can get started exploring that end of chicken fun
Good Luck with all of your hatches and your new babies!
Thanks for any information you have for me.

Well we got a huge EE egg today! Goose egg on the far left, duck egg next, then the EE jumbo and then EE normal then bantam chicken. The goose egg 118 grams, duck egg 82 grams, EE egg 90 grams and the normal EE egg was 60 grams. Lol. I'm think double yolker! Ouch poor EE! My EEs are decent layers. About 4-5 eggs a week and right away they were 55-65 grams. No pullet eggs. My Orps are still playing 50-60 gram eggs and showing no signs of getting bigger.
I went into Ideals website, looks like they have all but the CA grays. I didn't check the available dates on each breed but not until May. I might be able to get our Grange to special order them.On a quest for Speckled Sussex, Partridge Rocks, California Greys, Delawares and Easter Eggers would like to get all chicks within a week of each other but am willing to hit multiple spots. Well aren't you sweet!! That might be exactly what I need. I have learned that Privett is the only hatchery to offer CA Greys too so I will put in a call and see if they can special order some of them to go along with the EEs and SS! Thanks so much for the offer to pick up birds for me. I may take you up on that but more likely I will make the drive from Lakeport myself. I really am touched by your offer though!I have had good luck with Western Farm Center in Santa Rosa. http://www.westernfarmcenter.com/chickens-turkeys-poultry.htm
Their website says that Ameraucanas (EEs!), Speckled Sussex, and Delaware chick orders are expected for Mar 22. Check the site for other days available. Not sure what hatcheries they order from, but Privett is one.
Not sure where you are located, but I am quite close to Western and we visit my MIL in Ukiah, so I might be able to help transport little fluffies that far for you.
I totally assumed a double yolker. Even figured out who laid it! Score! Solara was the one who laid it (Luna is the maple colored EE, Solara has a lighter colored front body). It looks almost as big as my goose egg. That's crazy! Haha But fun!
