So, I emailed a guy about calling his hatchery ee's ameraucanas. he emailed me back saying he took pictures off the Internet and they all said Ameraucanas so I am full of it. I found that both hilarious and disturbing in so many ways....

When Mario worked for a shipping company ( he was the backup for the schedule's and the guy who did the daily schedule was a slacker so he did it a LOT) there was this one guy who was never happy with when his things were getting wherever. He used to yell "UNACCEPTABLE!!! THAT IS A BANANA" ( he was a Vietnamese guy shipping bananas, don't ask) in this crazy voice, and it became an in joke ( he wouldn't deal with the other guy AT ALL so would call Mario at all hours at home) Now we yell " UNACCEPTABLE! THAT IS AN EE!" in honor of the insane Ameraucana people.

And welcome flowers! we are all cool people with great names so you will fit right in!

I had something exciting to say to threadgeek, too, but for the life of Me I cant remember what it was or what I was responding too...

suck a slacker!

Love it!

I just took a look at JerseyGiantFolks "Spa day for chickens" article. Love the picture of Maggie in her bubble bath. The first time we bathed birds for fair we had way to much water for the OEGB's, they were floating like fishing bobbers! They really do enjoy their tub time.

Thankfully company isn't coming until after the Red Bluff show so they won't be here for the smelly wet chickens all over the laundry room.

ETA - MIL keeps asking to see the new chicks, she doesn't understand that they still need heat etc. I'll be loading the incubator so I should have eggs hatching when she & 2 SIL's come to visit.
Thank you! Maggie never relaxed-- broke 4 wing feathers in one bath, one time. oy.

Vampire is fine to reach under, reach down and touch, just don't pick her up and go toward water.

The EE debate seems to have fallen into a few state threads also.

I go in and read through the "breed/gender" thread when bored. The common hope there is that the littlest bantam they brought home is a sebright.

I will not even attempt to catch up. I know how fast this thread moves when I am gone.

Ron- how are the duck eggs coming along?

I've rehomed all my drakes except my 1 Pekin and all the rest are Appleyards. Got my last batch today of SA babies. Love them!

So my count is 21 duck hens, 6 drakes (5 SA and 1 Pekin) but at least one of the SA drakes will be processed for the table. Possibly 2.
So when I am all done with my shifting around I will 11 various layer breeds for eggs, 10 Appleyard hens and 3 total drakes - 2 SA and 1 Pekin. I might try to squeeze a 3rd SA drake in if they aren't too aggressive.

Gave away from of the baby roos I was able to spot in my 4 weekers. Still watching the rest.

I do not know how many roos my broody has with her- I haven't really checked but she has managed to keep all 10 adopted chicks alive. :D When I spot the roos do I just take them away from her? Will she notice and get mad at me? She loves me now. When I call her name she comes running with all her chickies in tow, knowing I am going to give them all treats. Just nab them at night I am thinking?
