Did you post about the dark egg project on the Dark egg layers thread?

Yes Go Chickies! We are having a hatch a long!

2 SG Dorkings hatched this morning with 4 pipped Dorking eggs and 1 pipped Delaware! Get the brooder ready Kim!

YAY!!!!!!! For these and all the other hatching babies.

I start my hatch in 1 week!

Congratulations! It always seem that you're eying the first pips and another chicks pips, zips and hatches that you didn't even notice! Sounds like a great hatch!

Happy Easter to you too Trisha! There is something special having chicks right at Easter!

Look what arrived yesterday from SunnyDawn! I wish the picture showed just how dark they are....they are amazing! Gotta clean the incubator and get these going. Sunny and I are working on a dark egg project. They arrived all safe and sound and beautifully packed!
WOW - those really are some chocolate eggs! Beautiful!

Those are some awesome eggs. My mom is upset that I didn't order a chick that'll lay really dark eggs. I would have, but I ordered from McMurray and he was sold out of all the dark egg-layers!

I am going to try to hold myself back from adding any new birds next year since this year it is possible that I am going overboard. That said, I for sure want a dark egg layer in the future.

BTW what did you order?

2 Light Brahmas, 2 Speckled Sussex...and I want 1 Blue Andalusian but since they only breed 50% blue I ordered 4 of them. Am going to keep the blues and sell the others, and then whichever blue turns out the best is the one I'll keep.
And 7 RIR's that'll be sold after I get them, just because I needed a minimum order of 15 :)

Hangtown Farm is Jasons BYC name. He has Crele Penedesencas, White Empordanesas and some Easter Eggers and Olive eggers.

I think you are in Redding. Jeff, papabrooder lives up there and has a bit of everything. He could easily get you some Marans.
