I can certainly help you with that. All the way from due to hatch next week, to adult, with several ages in between.

Yes, you are not doing your duty to the preservation of chickens and poultry in general.............................more birds!!!!
LOL!!! I would love to have a couple boys! Oh, and I forgot my newest obsession! Quail!!! Monet and I love our little popcorn birds! We have 19 bobwhites and are thinking about getting some Cot eggs to hatch!

Quote: I set 107 Cot eggs last night! A genesis full..............I broke the bracket on one quail rack, so had to leave in one chicken rack, hence the 107 instead of 120, I had enough eggs,

So the eggs I picked up from your DW were all empordanesa & OE? I've been trying to do all my sets on Saturdays to make it easier to track when eggs are due to lockdown/hatch. However, this weekend's set it moving to Sunday for the Turkey Hatch. So I'm holding your eggs to set off with them. I already have 39 turkey eggs saved up. I'm still getting 5 most days, so it will be a LARGE setting of turkeys. If they do well, I hope I can find buyers for poults, Welcome to the thread, it's a friendly and helpful group around here. Yes, generally when they're hot, since they can't sweat. Molly, you are certainly in the right company. I have GOT to decide on some breeds to part with, but can find a reason to keep each one. I have nearly thirty pens/coops with a different breed in each.........................and still have more coming. It seriously has got to STOP! I'm going to start giving you all permission to smack me down
LOL...the hard part is to not incubate all the rare eggs. I'm slowly getting over it. I'm getting about 50 cream Legbar eggs a week. That is just that coop. Chicken math is out of control. :) I really need to cool it!

My hatchery girl came from Ideal, I'm pretty sure. Our first chicken was a barred rock chick that my brother-in-law gave to Monet. Of course, we couldn't have just one so we bought 3 more chicks at Brentwood Feed: our Australorp Precious, an EE named Houdini, and a Golden Sex Link named Omelet. That was the beginning of our chicken obsession!!!

Precious with her suspicious look.

Precious with her 3 Speckled Sussex babies that we slipped under her the last time she was broody.

How close are you to the Bay area??? I sure know someone who would buy some CL eggs! I keep watching the auctions on eBay but really don't want to buy shipped eggs if I can avoid it!

Langshans were used to make Australorps. They can be bread back to improve them but you have to be careful with the sub breed you use.
Langshans are such a great breed! They were used to make several different breeds including Jersey Giants. Love my Langshans!!!
